TEDxBozeman Announces 2020 Presenters

Bozeman, MT -  TEDxBozeman, Montana’s first and longest-running TEDx event, is pleased to announce its featured presenters and performers for the 2020 event on April 4th, at The Commons. TEDxBozeman received dozens of applications from as far away as Australia to create one of the most competitive applicant fields in recent years.

The 2020 event theme - In Focus - is designed to spark conversations about the most challenging questions facing our communities - both in Montana and worldwide. On April 4th, 2020, 16 speakers and performers will give audience members a new lens to look through when considering topics such as the mental and physical health of our first responders, to the role wildlife plays in climate change.

A few such speakers include local legends like Raymond Ansotegui -  who travels the country as a rodeo bullfighter learning from those he protects in the arena and the bulls he dances with, and Meshayla Cox, a young activist and outreach coordinator for the Montana Racial Equity Project which works tirelessly to promote racial equity in Montana through community organizing. Wildlife veterinarian and founder of Veterinary Initiative for Endangered Wildlife Dr. Deborah McCauley will introduce us to the missing link in conservation, while dancers from Bozeman’s Raison D’être Dance Project will grace the TEDxBozeman stage with a new piece.

“We’re so fortunate to have this incredible group of speakers and performers. This year’s program is certainly going to push the boundaries and challenge the beliefs we hold around the biggest topics of the decade,” says TEDxBozeman executive coordinator Veronika Sieben.

Full biographies and the complete lineup of presenters can be seen at www.tedxbozeman.com along with general information about this year’s upcoming event. TEDxBozeman 2020 will be held Saturday, April 4th at The Commons. Ticket sales will go live on February 26, 2020. About TEDx (x = independently organized event):In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized. (Subject to certain rules and regulations.)

About TED:TED is a nonprofit organization devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading, usually in the form of short, powerful talks (18 minutes or fewer) delivered by today's leading thinkers and doers. Many of these talks are given at TED's annual conference in Vancouver, British Columbia, and made available, free, on TED.com. TED speakers have included Bill Gates, Jane Goodall, Elizabeth Gilbert, Sir Richard Branson, Nandan Nilekani, Philippe Starck, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Sal Khan and Daniel Kahneman.

TED's open and free initiatives for spreading ideas include TED.com, where new TED Talk videos are posted daily; the TED Translators Program, which provides subtitles and interactive transcripts as well as translations from thousands of volunteers worldwide; the educational initiative TED-Ed; the annual million-dollar TED Prize, which funds exceptional individuals with a "wish," or idea, to create change in the world; TEDx, which provides licenses to thousands of individuals and groups who host local, self-organized TED-style events around the world; and the TED Fellows program, which selects innovators from around the globe to amplify the impact of their remarkable projects and activities.
